OVERVIEW

The Senior Estimator is responsible for gathering, assessing and analyzing data required in preparing lump sum, unit rate and cost plus detailed estimates.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

Must have open availability to travel to and work at any location and potentially be away from home for short periods of time. May be required to work non-standard shifts, any time any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Employment is “at will” and subject to change depending on departmental needs.

 

ESSSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Develop proposal submittal criteria list. Evaluate Request for Proposal requirements and work with estimate team to prepare and submit required documents.
  • Leverage prior experience to generate price take-off quantities, materials, construction equipment and indirects to support the work.
  • Lead the solicitation, evaluation and procurement of subcontractors and materials for applicable scopes of work.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings with clients and site walk-throughs with subcontractors.
  • Develop scope and plans for pricing of conceptual or quantity based estimates.
  • Evaluate labor productivities and installation schemes.
  • Review contractor programs for compliance with contract documents.
  • Perform constructability reviews, analyze budgets and project costs.

 

 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be familiar with take-offs and pricing work in self-perform and lump sum, competitive bid environments.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the industrial construction market involving proposal development or project execution in a non-union based environment.
  • 2 or 4 year degree in technical field is highly preferred.
  • Must have previous heavy-industrial construction experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate and able to utilize Microsoft Office applications
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential
  • Some overnight travel is required
  • Must be capable of providing leadership to subordinate Estimators

Division Safety Manager

OVERVIEW

The Division Safety Manager directs the implementation of the organization’s HSE function to create and sustain a safety focused, sustainable results oriented culture and environment, thereby reducing/eliminating occupational injuries/ illnesses, brand protection, and financial loss.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Plans and implements programs to develop and train safety professionals in HSE policies, practices, procedures and other HSE activities
  • Provides leadership and mentorship to site safety management
  • Calculates and controls HSE budgets, staffing requirements and schedules
  • Preparation of certification/classification programs and preparation of supporting HSE documents
  • Oversees the coordination and execution of Safety Cases and support studies, Qualitative Risk Assessments, Process Hazard Analysis, Fire Protections Specifications and Environmental Impact Assessments as required by certifications or regulatory entities
  • Reviews and validates risk assessment and mitigation programs
  • Provide guidance, assistance and advice to division lines, project management and company organizations through implementation of company HSE practices and procedures in relation to client requirements and current legislation and regulations
  • Develop, customize and supervise the implementation of HSE programs to promote safe productivity in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Run gap analysis to identify and address program gaps that may occur between company practices, client requirements and regulatory legislative  requirements in order to confirm that the project conforms to company, client and regulatory/legislative requirements
  • Initiate, foster and maintain HSE standards and goals through project wide HSE programs to heighten awareness and promote a safe and productive work environment
  • Adhere to, promote and support Titan Health, Safety and Environmental and Sustainability policies
  • Functional use of ISNetworld, Avetta, PEC Premier, BROWZ, and other pre-qualification systems
  • Miscellaneous duties as directed

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in applicable field of study plus 10 years field experience is highly preferred, however safety specific education (such as NCCER, OHST, CSST and CSSS) combined with extensive experience equal to 15 years may be substituted if non-degreed.
  • OSHA Outreach 500 Certification or equivalent
  • Formal Root Cause Analysis training
  • Must have valid driver license and clear criminal background screen (TWIC preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Pipefitting Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with the Pipefitting field.
  • Pipefitting Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools in a safe manner.
  • Construction Math – Demonstrates a level of competency in construction math as required in trade practice, including fractions, decimals, geometry, use of formulae, and trigonometry.
  • Drawing and Detail Sheets – Identify parts and types of drawings and interpret drawing indexes and line lists.
  • Advanced Blue Print Reading – Correctly identify piping arrangement drawings. Read and correctly interpret GPS coordinates, control points, elevations, P&ID’s plan views and section views. Identify isometric drawings.
  • Identifying and Installing Valves – correctly identify the purpose of valves, including those that start, stop and regulate flow and regulate direction; and identify types of valve actuators. Understand and explain how to properly store and handle valves.
  • Pipe Hangers and Supports – Correctly identify types of pipe hangers and supports. Identify and interpret drawings and symbols, and accurately determine placement of hangers. Competently identify, explain, install and maintain variable and constant spring can supports.
  • Stress Relieving and Aligning – Understand thermal expansion, anchors and cold springing. Have a knowledge of stress-relief procedures. Be able to successfully align pipe flanges to rotating equipment nozzles.
  • Threaded Pipe Fabrication – Correctly identify and explain the materials used in threaded piping systems and explain types of threads. Read and interpret screwed fitting joint drawings. Calculate offsets.
  • Socket Weld Pipe Fabrication – Correctly identify fittings and read/interpret socket weld pipe drawings. Correctly determine pipe lengths between socket weld fittings and supports.
  • Butt Weld Pipe Fabrication – Correctly identify butt weld piping materials and fittings and read/interpret butt weld piping drawings. Correctly determine pipe lengths between fittings and supports.
  • Advanced Pipe Fabrication – Calculate piping offsets. Fabricate tank heating coils. Competently lay out three and four piece mitered turns and perform geometric lay out of pipe laterals and supports.
  • Rigging Equipment – Safely and competently identify and use basic and special rigging procedures and equipment including chain hoists, come-alongs, jacks and tuggers. Be able to competently inspect hooks, slings and other rigging equipment. Can determine sling capacities and angles. Must be proficient in the use of hand signals.
  • Testing Piping Systems and Equipment – Competently perform all pre-test requirements and hydrostatic tests. Have knowledge of steam blow tests.
  • Underground Pipe – Correctly identify and explain the different types and use of underground piping materials and fittings, and identify pipe size classifications.
  • Above Ground Pipe – Correctly store pipe and materials. Identify types of flanges, and explain the location of flange bolt holes.
  • Special Piping – Be able to install flared and compression joints using copper tubing. Solder and braze joints using copper tubing. Demonstrate ability to bend pipe to a specified radius. Competently install grooved pipe couplings.
  • Oxyfuel Cutting – safely perform the following oxyfuel cutting tasks:straight line and square shapes, piercing and slot cutting, bevels, and washing.
  • Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
  • Follow oral and written directions.
  • Work within company policies (including Safety and Human Resources policies), client policy and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four (4) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as a Pipefitter.
  • Able to correctly execute material take offs, figure offsets, take off to fittings and rigging.
  • Completion of pre-hire and post-hire substance abuse testing as required by company and/or client.
  • Completion of Safety related certifications such as OSHA 10 or Safety council programs as required by company and/or client.
  • Ability to work with others to achieve job goals.
