The rich history of GrayWolf Industrial Services extends back to 1978. The company was founded as Horn Industrial Services and created to provide specialty welding, rigging and erecting services for the heavy industrial and mechanical markets. With our business units, designed to support each other in meeting this challenge, we began impacting the heavy industry mechanical services industry.
In the early years of our business, GrayWolf built a reputation for outstanding safety records and supreme project execution amongst both the small and large players in the industry. Our delivery of quality projects helped us to quickly become the go-to provider for tanks, specialty welding and equipment setting.
Over time, word spread about our capabilities as retained service providers and GrayWolf flourished. Not one to rest on our laurels or past accomplishments, GrayWolf continued to seek larger and more complex projects. Heavier projects continued to become the norm for GrayWolf, and we even led a seven-month project of sinking and successfully raising the 12,000-ton Titanic replica for the award-winning movie.
GrayWolf recognized the opportunities of an evolving industry and evolved with this new environment. After establishing a name in the power, refinery and metal markets, GrayWolf expanded into new markets with new challenges to become even more of an industrial services powerhouse.
In 2009, GrayWolf acquired Milco Constructors, a union west-coast leader in the refinery and renewable energy spaces. With an increased presence in the marketplace, GrayWolf tackled significant solar, wind and piping projects for the refinery, power and chemical/petrochemical markets. Shortly after, the company expanded its capabilities and services by welcoming Inco Services, a leading mechanical services provider to the pulp and paper market in the southeast, into the GrayWolf family.
GrayWolf has focused and transformed into a national, multi-market company.
In 2015, Horn Industrial Services was renamed to GrayWolf Industrial Services to better reflect the strength and unity that our business units share together as a pack. The name change signified a milestone in our ongoing corporate transformation and the beginning of a new era. Just as wolves do, GrayWolf will continue to evolve and adapt with the industry, while preserving the company that we have built with pride.
Today, GrayWolf is the partner-of-choice for specialty construction, maintenance and fabrication services. Our clients value us as a trusted partner and return to us for our expertise across all four business units. Our success comes from our unwavering commitment to safety, precision and quality.
